Always fresh, never frozen.
Warped ‘09.

Yesterday I went to the Warped Tour 2009 stop in Long Island, and it was one of the best days ever. Not to mention that the night before I had a sweet time at karaoke and crashed on my friend Heather’s couch, but that’s another story.

The day started off with Hit The Lights, who I think I was most excited to see. I had already seen them in concert 3 times, and they just don’t get old. They got me really pumped up and played a great mix of songs. Such a real band. Plus I got a sweet HTL shirt.

Next up was Bayside, one of the best bands out there. They are no talk and all business, giving the fans as many songs as they can in a short amount of time. Jack O’Shea shreds so hard, and Anthony Raneri sings like an angel….an Italian angel.

Senses Fail up next. Buddy spent a lot of time preaching about the scene and all the terrible bands on the tour. He made so many good points, but this ironically led to us hearing less real music because he took up so much time. Too bad Heath is leaving the band after this tour. He’s awesome and looks like Dave Grohl.

We split up for a little while and my friend Jon and I went to see this band called Mercy Mercedes. Not too bad, basic pop band. But, their lead guitarist can rip so hard, wow. He belongs in a hair metal band. We also caught a can of water that the band threw into the crowd and it cracked open on us. Still, we win.

Finally, A Day To Remember. The only band I’ve ever seen with a massive pit in the front, and about 3 to 4 more in the back. I spent more time watching the pit behind me than watching the actual band. They played an awesome set and had a ton of energy, but I had to move out of the way when some asshole threw a trash can….yes, a TRASH CAN.

On a final note, Jeffree Starr SUCKS and doesn’t belong on any tour and shouldn’t be allowed to make “music”.
